Weight loss for teenage girls is about helping teenagers especially girls reduce the extra weight and protect their psychological and physical health from the harmful effects of obesity. In most cases those who are responsible for a teenagers weight are not the teens themselves but their parents. The parents have to be conscious on what cause obesity and also how to keep their children from gaining extra weight. Here are some weight loss tips for teenage girls that will give ideas to lose weight:
- Seek advice from your family doctor or pediatrician to find out your ideal weight and what would be an appropriate amount of weight to lose. Even though it may seem realistic for you to lose 20 pounds, you may only need to lose 10 pounds to be healthy. This is in order to have a correct and full physical check of your body, and to know the kind of food that you should be eating
- Eat breakfast. Breakfast starts your metabolism for the day. It is one of the most important meals, and this is even more important for teenagers that need the nutrients and minerals in order to supplement their growing bodies. Eating healthy in the morning will give you more energy to deal with your lessons and activities and will keep your stomach full until lunch time.
- Reduce your meal portions. Some tricks to make it seem like your portion sizes haven’t changed is to use smaller plates and eat out of premeasured containers. If you’re hungry between meals, have a glass of water and a small fruit or vegetable, string cheese or handful of nuts.
- Snack on fresh fruits and vegetables. If you truly want to lose weight, you have to eat snacks that are not only delicious and tasty but are also filled with nutrients and vitamins. As a teenager you need all the energy you can get from food and fruits and vegetables are among the best sources. Good examples are apples, oranges, bananas and apricots
- Monitor how many calories you consume from liquid. Drinking soda, juice, tea, smoothies and coffee can easily add up to hundreds of calories. If you can’t stop drinking liquids other than water, substitute every other liquid you drink with a glass of water. If you’re able to cut out all other beverages besides water, you’ll easily avoid additional weight gain.
- Find a physical activity you get pleasure from doing that also reduce stress. Activities include, but are not limited to, jogging, swimming, hiking, canoeing, biking, field hockey and tennis. Exercise for at least 30 minutes per day. You do not have got to join a gym or do any formal training; any physical activity is useful for your weight loss efforts provide that you do it frequently. - Ask help from another family member to lose weight with you. This way, you can both observe what you eat and exercise together. Give motivation each other to keep on on the weight loss plan when either of you wants to eat a high-calorie meal or skip exercising for the day.
